This is a 5-year provisional visa for applicants who do intend to secure regional migration. Depending on the nominated occupation, an applicant applying under this stream can claim additional points from a state (regional) government nominations.
After living in for at least 3 years and have worked for at least 12 months in a specified regional area of Australia, you have the opportunity to proceed on to a permanent residency visa under the subclass 191 visa.
Skilled Nominated - Visa Subclass 190
This is a skilled permanent visa. An applicant will have to meet the point’s requirement under the skill select program, have a valid skills assessment and be sponsored by a state or territory government to be eligible to apply under this visa.
This visa allows you and your family members to live, work, study in Australia indefinitely. You can also enroll in Medicare (Australia’s scheme for health-related care and expenses) and apply for Australian citizenship (when eligible).
Skilled Regional - Visa Subclass 191
This is a permanent visa that is available for visa holders of sub class 491. Applicants must live and work for at least two and three years respectively in a specified regional area. This visa allows you and your family members to live, work, study in Australia indefinitely. You can also enroll in Medicare (Australia’s scheme for health-related care and expenses) and apply for Australian citizenship (when eligible).
Skilled Independent - Visa Subclass 189
This is a permanent visa which is available for applicants whose occupations are high in demand and for occupations on the long-term skill occupation list. An applicant must meet the points under the skill select program independently without the assistance of state or territory sponsorship or nomination.
