Skills Assessments
A Skill Assessment is a crucial first step for many skilled visa applications, including the subclass 189, 190,186, 491 and 494 visas. It is the process of having your qualifications, experience, and skills formally assessed by a relevant Australian assessing authority to ensure they meet the standards required for your nominated occupation.
Each occupation has its own designated skills assessmentauthority each with unique criteria and documentation requirements that change from time to time.
A positive skill assessment is often mandatory before you can:
- Lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI)
- Apply for state or territory nomination
- Be invited to apply for a skilled visa
- Proceed with an employer-sponsored visa subclass 186 Direct Entry Stream
Without it, your visa application can be refused or found invalid.
